Ingredients

  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teasp. salt
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 cup raisins

Preparation

Step 1

Combine flour, salt and baking soda. Stir with fork. Add buttermilk. Stir vigoroul=sly until dough comes together. Add raisins.

Turn dough onto floured board and keead for 1 min. DO NOT OVERWORK. Pat into 6 inch disk. Slash and X in top, cutting 1/2 inch deep. Place on greased baking sheet. Bake 30 mins. @ 375 degrees. Wrap in moist towl until ready to serve.

Lasts for 1 day.
