Preparation

Step 1

Slice all of your pickles into even slices, then get three bowls, one with flour, one with the panko mixture and another for your egg. For the panko mixture, add the ½ tsp of garlic powder, a pinch of salt (though you can skip this, since pickles are already quite salty) and pepper to taste. Once your stations are set up, toss the pickle slices in a bowl of flour, making sure each slice is coated. Next, dip each slice in the whisked egg and finally into the panko, making sure you have a nice coating of bread crumbs on each slice.

Once all your slices are breaded, get a frying pan on medium heat, with enough canola oil to lightly coat the bottom. Once you’ve let it heat up for a minute or two, place all your pickles in the pan, frying each side until golden brown. Once they are done, place them on some paper towel to remove some oil and allow them to cool a bit, then dig in!
