Easy, cheesy grits. From 'Epicure', Jr. League of Newport Beach My husband is from a southern family and loves his grits!
- 6 C water, boiling
- 1 1/2 C grits
- 3/4 C butter (stick and a half)
- 1 lb cheddar cheese, grated
- 2 tsp salt (opt)
- 3 eggs, beaten
Boil water in a large saucepan. Add grits and cook for 10 minutes, uncovered. Remove from heat and add remaining ingredients. Pour into a buttered 13 x 9 baking dish. Bake for 1-½ hours at 350*.
