  • 4 lbs lean ground beef
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 cup diced green bell pepper
  • 1 - 28 oz can tomato sauce
  • 2 - 10 3/4 oz condensed tomato soup
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 3 tblsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tblsp ground mustard
  • 1 tblsp yellow mustard
  • 1 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Preparation

Step 1

1.In a large skillet brown the beef over medium-heat. Drain fat.
2.Add the onion and green pepper and cook, stirring frequently, until the onion becomes translucent. About 5-10 minutes.
3.In a medium bowl mix the rest of the ingredients.
4.Add the meat mixture to the slow cooker and stir in the sauce.
5.Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours.
6.I always make a big batch, divide into thirds, cook 1/3 in the slow cooker and freeze the other two. If you are in a rush you could warm this on the stove but the slow cooker helps the flavors blend.
