Fruit Salsa with Cinnamon Chips 0 Picture


  • SALSA:
  • 2 tart green apples
  • 1 kiwi
  • 1/2 cup red seedless grapes
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries
  • 1 small orange (or 1 teaspoon orange peel and juice)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons apple jelly
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 10 (8 inch) flour tortillas
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter



Step 1

For Salsa:

Finely chop apples, kiwi, grapes and strawberries: Place in medium bowl. Grate orange peel to measure 1 teaspoon: squeeze juice from orange. Add grated peel and juice to chopped fruit. In small bowl, stir brown sugar, cinnamon and apple jelly. Add jelly mixture to fruit. Toss gently to mix. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour to mix flavors.

For Chips:

Preheat oven to 400°. In small bowl, mix together sugar and cinnamon. Brush 1 side with melted butter. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar mixture on tortillas. Cut each tortilla into 8 wedges and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 5 minutes or until golden. Cool
