Ingredients

  • Following morning:
  • 1 pound sausage
  • 3/4 pound mild cheddar cheese
  • 4 sliced green onions
  • 8 slices of bread (crust removed)
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 soup can of milk
  • Small can of mushrooms

Preparation

Step 1

Use a 9 x 13 glass casserole dish

Layer ingredients in the following order:
Cubed bread on bottom
Crumbled cooked sausage
Grated cheese, and chopped green onions
Beaten eggs, combined with milk, dry mustard and salt

Place in refrigerator until the following morning.

Preheat oven to 300 degrees

Mix the soup and half can of milk. Pour over bread and egg mixture. Sprinkle with the can of mushrooms.

Bake for 1 1/2 hours with foil on top for the first 45 minutes, then remove for final 45 minutes.
