Ingredients

  • 3 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup beef stock or milk
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
  • SAUCE
  • 12 oz. bottle chili sauce
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 16 oz. can sauerkraut (drain and cut up fine) or put in a blender
  • 16 oz. can cranberry sauce

Step 1

Soak bread crumbs in beef stock or milk. Add beaten eggs and dry soup mix. Mix well. Add hamburger, and salt and pepper to taste. Mix well. Shape into individual meat balls. Place in a greased 9 X 13 pan.

SAUCE
Combine ingredients in sauce pan, simmer 5 to 10 minutes. Pour over meat balls and bake at 350 for about an hour, or a little more.

NOTE:
You can take 1/2 cup sauerkraut and put in a blender and add to meatball mix. I also brown meat balls in pan for 15 minutes before pouring sauce over them so you can pour off any grease they make.
