- Cup Dark Chocolate
- 1/2 Cup Butter
- 2/3 Cup Sugar
- 4 Eggs
- 2 Tbsp Flour
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- Confectioner's Sugar (as a garnish)
- 12 " Muffin Pans

Step 1
Break the dark chocolate into pieces (or start with chocolate chips) and place in a large, microwavable bowl.
Place the chocolate in a microwave and cook on HIGH for 20-30 seconds at a time, stirring after each. Once the chocolate is mostly melted, add the butter in as well for the final spin in the microwave. (It's also possible to melt these together over the stove, but that takes longer.) Allow the mixture to cool.
Add the sugar and then each egg separately while stirring.
Add the flour and mix well.
Optionally, you may add orange zest, cinnamon, nutmeg, ground ginger or any other spice you love to the batter now.
Pour the batter into the muffin pans and place in freezer for at least 4 hours.
Preheat the oven to 425°F.
Bake for 15-20 minutes. The outside should be fully-baked while the hearts of the muffins remain moist and "melted."
Garnish with powdered confectioner's sugar.
