Ingredients

  • Cake:
  • Cream cheese Filling
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 Tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • Cream Cheese Filling:
  • 1 package (3-oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • Spicy Mocha Frosting:
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 2 Tablespoons baking cocoa
  • 2 Tablespoons hot water
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant coffee granules

Preparation

Step 1

1. Heat oven to 350°F. Spray bottom and sides of 13x9-inch pan. Make Cream Cheese Filling.

2. Beat remaining ingredients (except Spicy Mocha Frosting) in large bowl with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds, scraping bowl constantly. Beat on high speed 3 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Spread half of the batter in pan. Spoon filling over batter; spread evenly. Spread remaining batter over filling.

3. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely, about 1 hour.

4. Make Spicy Mocha Frosting; beat all ingredients on medium speed until smooth and spreadable. Frost cake with frosting. Store covered in refrigerator.
