- 12 ounces chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup margarine, melted
- 1 package German chocolate cake mix
- 1 bag caramels
- 2/3 cup milk, divided
- 1 cup nuts

Step 1
Mix cake mix, margarine and 1/3 cup milk (no other ingredients). Spread 1/2 of this batter in a greased cake pan. Bake 6 minutes at 350 degrees and let cool. Melt caramels with 1/3 cup milk. Spread chocolate chips and nuts over baked portion. Pour on the melted caramel. Cover with remaining cake batter. (you will need to take small amounts and pat it flat and spread on top.) Bake an additional 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
