Ingredients
- Filling:
- 2 cups plain four
- 1 t soda
- 1 t salt
- 1 t cinnamon
- 1 t cloves
- 1 t nutmeg
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup oil
- 1 T vanilla
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup fig preserves
- 1/2 cup strawberry preserves
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 T Karo Syrup
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 stick butter
- 1 t soda
- 1 t vanilla

Preparation
Step 1
Sift these 7 ingredients into mixing bowl.
Add oil.
Add eggs, one at a time and buttermilk, mixing well.
Add vanilla.
Grease and flour a 9X13 inch or tube pan.
Pour in batter and bake. Check at 45 minutes.
Cook til tests done, maybe 1 1/2 hours in tube pan.
Fifteen minutes before cake is done, prepare topping.
Cook topping 10 minutes.
Poke holes in cake (still in pan) and pour topping over the cake.
Leave 1 1/2 hours.
