• 1/2 cup butter
• 1/2 cup Crisco
• 3 cups sugar
• 4 eggs
• 3 cups flour
• 1 cup milk
• 1/2 cup cocoa
• 1 1/2 t baking powder
• 1 t vanilla
• 1/2 t almond
• Bake 350 degrees for 1 hour.

• 5 eggs
• 3 cups sifted flour
• 1/2 t baking powder
• 1/2 t salt
• 1/2 cup cocoa
• 1 cup evaporated milk
• 2 t vanilla

Cream shortening
Add sugar
Add eggs, one at a time
Sift dry ingredients three times
Alternate dry ingredients with milk
Bake at 325 degrees for 90 minutes
