Cakes: Peggy's Cake

Ingredients

• 2 cups brown sugar
• 2 cups hot water
• 1 package seedless raisins
• 2 T olive oil
• 1 t salt
• 1 t cinnamon
• 1 t cloves
• 3 cups flour
• 1 t soda dissolved in 1 t hot water
• 1-1 1/2 cups nuts (optional)
• Icing
• Powdered sugar
• Butter
• Lemon juice (as directed on sugar box)

Cooking time 45mins

Preparation

Step 1

Boil together first 7 ingredients.
Cool.
When cool, add flour, dissolved soda and nuts.
Bake in greased and floured sheet cake pan at 325 degrees for 45 minutes.
