Ingredients
- 1 Egg
- 3/4 Crisco shortening
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 Cup molasses (Brer Rabbit - orange label)
- 1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp. baking soda mixed in 1/2 cup water
- 6 cups flour
- 1 tsp salt

Preparation
Step 1
Mix together all ingredients and divided into 4 parts. Place each section on a piece of waxed paper and roll lengthwise into long tubes about 12 inches long. chill
Slice thick about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick slices and roll in granulated sugar. Place on cookie sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes. Store in tightly covered container
