Ingredients
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 eggs well beaten
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 cup nuts

Step 1
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs. Mix well and then add vanilla. Mix together dry ingredients.
Stir in nuts. Form into two rolls. Chill overnight. Cut into thin slices. Bake at 400 for 10 minutes.
