Ingredients

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 16 oz. canned pumpkin
  • 3-1/2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 2/3 cup water

Preparation

Step 1

Stir together sugar and oil.

Stir in eggs and pumpkin. Combine dry ingredients. Blend dry ingredients and water into wet mixture, alternating.

Divide batter between two 9x5 inch loaf pans. I also make in individual loaves which is fun at the holidays.

Bake for 40 to 60 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean.

Let stand 10 minutes. Remove from pans and cool on racks.
