Ingredients
- 2 sticks butter
- 1 cup water
- 4 T cocoa
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs slightly beaten
- 2 cups flour
- 1 t soda
- 2 t vanilla
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- Icing
- 1 stick butter
- 4 T cocoa
- 6 T milk
- 1 box 4X sugar, sifted
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 t vanilla

Preparation
Step 1
In a large bowl, sift together sugar and flour. In a saucepan, melt butter, cocoa and water, bring to a boil. Pour over the flour mixture and stir until well mixed. Add buttermilk, eggs, soda and vanilla, mix well. Pour into large greased pan and bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
Icing
In a double boiler, slowly bring to a boil the butter, cocoa and milk. Remove from heat and add sugar, vanilla and pecans. Beat well with a spoon and spread on cake while hot. Cover with foil.
