- 1/2 teaspoon salt (1/4 ts)
- 1/4 cup shortening (2 Tbsp)
- 3/4 cup milk (1/4 Cup + 2 Tbsp)
- 1-1/2 cups maple syrup (3/4 Cups)

Step 1
In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt; cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add milk; stir just until moistened.
Turn onto a lightly floured surface; roll to 1/2-in.thickness.
Cut with a 2-in.biscuit cutter.
Pour syrup into an 11-in.x 7-in.x 2-in.baking dish.
Place biscuits on top of syrup.
Bake at 450° for 12-15 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown.
