May’s Yeast Dough for Cheese Knishes

Ingredients
- In another bowl mix:
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 cups flour
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 package yast
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 tbsp sugar
- Filling:
- 1 lb. dry cottage cheese
- Fried Onion
- Salt and sugar to taste
- Egg to moisten.

Preparation
Step 1
Mix dry ingredients together. Make a well in the middle and add beaten eggs, oil and yeast mixture. Stir well. Cover and let rise. (dough)
Roll out the dough. Cut into large circles with a glass. Place a blob of cheese mixture on each one. Close up into a ball and place the pinched side down so the top is a nice round smooth ball. Brush with egg and bake at 350 for approximately 30 minutes, but check on it often. Serve with fruit preserves and sour cream.
