Ingredients
- 1 c. sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 14 oz. bag shredded coconut (sweetened)
- 2 large egg whites
- 1/4 tsp. salt

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Combine condensed milk and vanilla in large bowl. Add coconut and stir until thoroughly mixed. Beat egg whites and salt until very stiff peaks form. Gently fold into coconut mixture. Dip 2 spoons into water, shake them off and form mixture into balls. Do not compact mixture. Place on cookie sheet and bake 20-25 minutes. Let cool completely.
Best the same day made. Will get softer as they sit.
To make chocolate macaroons: Add 1 1/2 oz. melted semi sweet chocolate to milk and vanilla and continue with original recipe.
