  • 1/4 Lb butter
  • 1 1/2 Cup flour
  • 1 1/2 Tsp baking powder
  • 1 Cup sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 Cup milk
  • 1/2 Lemon rind-grated
  • 1/2 Tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 Cup brown sugar
  • Nuts
  • 2 Tbsp butter

Preparation

Step 1

Blend flour, baking powder, and 1/4 lb butter into fine crumbs
Add sugar and cream thoroughly
Add eggs beaten 1 at a time, and add milk, lemon rind and vanilla - mix well by hand, the beat 8 minutes in mixer (#3)
Spread bottom and sides of round pan with butter and sugar - place almonds around surface and pat in brown sugar
Pour in batter and bake at 350 for 1 hour
Turnout immediately and sprinkle with xxx sugar
