Ingredients

  • 3/4 CUP SHORTENING
  • 1 CUP SUGAR
  • 1/4 CUP LIGHT MOLASSES
  • 1 BEATEN EGG
  • 2 CUPS FLOUR
  • 1/4 TSP. SALT
  • 2 TSP. SODA
  • 1 TSP. CINNAMON
  • 1 TSP. CLOVES
  • 1 TSP. GINGER

Preparation

Step 1

Cream shortening and sugar; add egg and molasses; beat well.

Add sifted dry ingredients; mix well.

Dipping out with a teaspoon, form small balls in your hands.

Dip one side in sugar.

Place 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet.

These will spread and crinkle on top when done.

Bake about 12 minutes in a 350 dgree oven.
