Ingredients
- 1 package (8-ounce) egg noodles
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 jar (30 to 32 ounce) spaghetti sauce
- 2 cups water
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 8-12 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese

Step 1
Spread uncooked noodles in a greased 9 x 13” pan. Layer meat and onions, browned and drained of fat, over noodles.
Mix spaghetti sauce, water, and sugar in a saucepan and simmer for five minutes. Pour sauce over meat and noodles.
Sprinkle cheese evenly over top. Cover pan tightly with aluminum foil and bake in a 325 degree oven for about one hour, or until noodles are tender.
Let dish set three minutes before cutting.
To add extra flavor, stir about 1 teaspoon garlic powder, ½ teaspoon crushed oregano and ½ teaspoon crushed basil into the spaghetti sauce.
