MOM'S TURKEY DRESSING

This is how my mom made her Thanksgiving turkey dressing for many many years.

Ingredients

• 3 quarts soft bread crumbs (1 loaf of bread)
• 2-1/2 teaspoons salt
• 1/4 teaspoon pepper
• 1 teaspoon sage
• 3/4 teaspoon thyme
• 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
• 1/2 cup minced onion
• 1/4 cup butter or margarine

Preparation

Step 1

Combine first six ingredients and mix.

Melt on stick of margarine in skillet. Add onion and cook until tender.

Pour over crumbs, tossing lightly with two forks.

Add more water if needed.

Makes stuffing for an 8 pound bird.

Add in raisins and apple chunks if desired.
