Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 Tbsp. white vinegar (apple cider)
  • 1 cup cake flour
  • 2 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg

Preparation

Step 1

Combine milk and vinegar in a medium bowl and set aside for 5 minutes (makes buttermilk).
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large mixing bowl.
Whisk the egg into the butter and milk. Pour mixture into the flour mixture until lumps are gone.
Heat waffle iron. Pour 1/3 cup mixture into the iron (however, I feel the key is to just cover the "bumps". Bake 3-5 minutes.
Enjoy with berries and cream.
