Chocolate and Kahlua Fondue with Winter Fruits 1 Picture

Ingredients

  • 14 oz. plain dark (semisweet) chocolate , very finely chopped
  • 2 cups double (heavy) cream
  • 1 cup Kahlúa
  • Assorted fresh fruit and/or desert biscuits, such as biscotti, to serve

Preparation

Step 1

1. Place the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl.

2. Heat the cream in a small saucepan until it is almost but not quite simmering.

3. Once the cream is near a simmer, very slowly pour it into the bowl of chocolate whilst stirring constantly.

4. In a separate saucepan, heat the Kahlúa to a near boil but be mindful that the liquid may ignite if it becomes too hot.

5. Slowly add the Kahlúa to the chocolate and cream mixture and serve hot with assorted fruit and biscuits for dipping.
