Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups water
  • 8 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup honey (I like maple syrup sometimes)
  • 1 cup softened butter (or 1/2 cup softened butter & 1/2 cup coconut oil)
  • 14 cups AP flour
  • 3 Tb salt
  • 3 Tb yeast
  • Egg wash
  • Sesame seeds for top if desired

Preparation

Step 1

Combine ingredients in Kitchenaid mixer. Put dough in loosely covered container & leave at room temp for 3-4 hours. Put in frig for up to 7 days. On baking day w/ heavily floured hands remove pieces of dough. Make ropes out of pieces & braid together for loaves. Cover & let rise approx 45-60 min. Covered. Before baking brush w/ egg wash & sprinkle w/ sesame seeds. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
