GRANDMA JEAN’S FRENCH TOAST

Wonderful recipe! I dip Byerly's round cinnamon bread and cook.

Ingredients
- Beat together with a fork until blended:
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg or 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- (I use both and about 1 teaspoon each)
- Handful of brown sugar (my addition to the recipe)

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat grill and add ½ tablespoon butter.
Dip slices of bread (thick bread is best like Italian) into egg mixture only until coated.
Fry at once until browned on both sides.
Serve hot with syrup or powdered sugar.
