Ingredients
- Blend the following with a pastry blender:
- 6 cups sifted flour
- 8 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 cups sugar
- 10 tsp. Crisco
- Combine:
- 1 1/2 warm milk and dissolve 2 pkgs. yeast and 2 tbsp. sugar
- 2 eggs (at room temperature)
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- Add this liquid to flour mixture, continually adding flour to make it workable - it will be sticky. But continue adding flour and kneading dough.
- Filling:
- 12 oz. bite size prunes makes 2 rolls. Soften the prunes in boiling water for a few minutes and then drain and cut them to be spreadable.

Preparation
Step 1
Cut into 5 small rolls; knead and flour a little. Let raise on a floured kitchen towel. Cover with another towel and rest for 18 minutes.
Roll out each roll - think small; salad plate - on a floured surface.
Fill with prune filling.
Prick rolls with fork and rub with egg yolk.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes on a greased cookie sheet.
Rub margarine or butter on roll immediately out of oven.
