Step 1

1. Wash skillet with warm, sudsy water and then rinse and dry well.
2. Rub the skillet generously with vegetable oil and leave it on a burner turned to low heat for about an hour or let it sit in a 350 degree oven for 2 hours.
3. Let the skillet cool, then pour out any excess oil.
4. Do this several times before first time use.
5. Avoid washing skillet with soap whenever possible.
6. Clean by wiping with a damp cloth after each use.
7. If food starts to stick to skillet during cooking, it's time to re-season.
