  • 1 lime, cut into 8 wedges
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup
  • Crushed ice, as needed
  • 1/2 cup cachaça

Preparation

Step 1

To make simple syrup, combine equal parts sugar and water in a small sauce pot and bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Let cool before using.

Divide the lime wedges and simple syrup between 2 low cocktail glasses. Using a muddler or the end of a spoon, stir vigorously, or muddle, to release all of the juice from the limes.

Fill each glass with some crushed ice and pour in the cachaça, dividing it evenly. Stir thoroughly and serve immediately
