EXCELLENT BROWNIES

This was a recipe from the KARE-11 Saturday morning show. Original recipe is from A Piece Of Cake Bakery.

Ingredients

• Mix together:
• 2-1/2 cups sugar
• 2 teaspoons vanilla
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 12 ounces softened butter
• Beat six minutes until light and creamy.
• ADD:
• 1-1/4 cups flour
• 3/4 cup cocoa
• Mix until just blended, scrape the bowel and add 5 eggs, lightly beaten.
• FROSTING:
• 1-1/2 ounces of unsweetened chocolate
• 1-1/2 ounces butter
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
• 2 ounces brewed coffee

Preparation

Step 1

Mix until just combined. Bake at 350 for 35 to 40 minutes until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool completely and then frost.

Frosting, melt in microwave – whisk in:
2 cups powdered sugar

Whisk until smooth and pour over cooled brownies.
