Ingredients
- Filling:
- 1/2 lb. oleo or butter
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 4 cups flour
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 lb. grated coconut
- 1 lb. jar of chopped cherries (reserving some liquid)

Preparation
Step 1
Dissolve yeast and sugar in lukewarm water and let stand.
Sift flour and salt; cut in shortening (like for a pie crust) and add egg yolks. Mix together then add the yeast mixture.
Mix well and knead for 5 minutes.
On floured surface, divide dough in 4 parts and let stand while you prepare the filling.
Roll out on granulated sugar and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
