Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb broccoli, broken into florets
  • 2 slices (nobs) fresh ginger root
  • juice of 1 orange (save rind)
  • 2 tsp cornflower
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 4 Tbsp water
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, thinly sliced
  • matchstick strips of orange rind, soaked in cold water

Step 1

1. Slice the broccoli stems and cut the ginger into matchsticks. Mix the orange juice with the cornflower, sugar and water.

2. Heat the oil in a wok. Stir-fry the stems for 2 mins. Add the ginger, garlic, and florets and stir-fry for 3 mins. Stir in the orange mix until thickened. Toss in the rind and serve.
