- 3/4 lb. lean ground beef
- 2 - 3 slices thick cut bacon, very finely chopped
- 1 small onion, finely minced (I used red)
- 3 tablespoons regular oats
- 2 tablespoons PC Black Label Taste #5 Umami Paste

Preparation
Step 1
* Saute onions over medium heat until golden and caramelized, about ten minutes. Set aside to cool.
* Combine all ingredients in a bowl, adding cooled onions, and mix gently but well.
* Form into three patties and refrigerate until serving time.
* Preheat indoor or outdoor grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Rub patties lightly with extra virgin olive oil and sprinkle with salt and freshly ground pepper to taste and cook 3 - 4 minutes per side or until just done.
* Serve on a lightly toasted whole grain or whole wheat kaiser roll, lightly brushed with garlic olive oil, with mayo, dijon, Strub's onion crunch and a handful of arugula (for 11 points in total)
