  • 2 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp baking cocoa
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1 c mayonnaise
  • 1 c lukewarm water
  • 1/2 c chopped walnuts
  • WHIPPED CREAM FROSTING
  • 3 tbsp cocoa, sifted
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 1 c whipping cream

Step 1

For the cake, sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cocoa. Stir in sugar. Add mayonnaise, water and chopped nuts. Stir until smooth. Turn batter into lightly greased and floured 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Bake at 350° F for 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted on centre comes out clean. Cool in pan or wire rack. Frost with whipped cream frosting. For frosting, combine all ingredients. Chill several hours. Whip cream mixture until stiff. Spread on cake and refrigerate until ready to serve.
