  • 500 grams extra-lean Ground Beef
  • 1 1/2 cups diced onion
  • 1 1/2 cups diced potatoes
  • 1 cup diced carrots
  • 1/2 cup diced celery
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 cup rice
  • 4 tablespoons beef bouillon
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 bay leaf

Preparation

Step 1

* Brown meat and onions in pan, stirring with fork to break up meat.
* Add all vegetables (except cabbage).
* Add seasonings and water in large pot.
* Bring to boil and simmer to 15 minutes.
* Add rice. Simmer for 45 minutes.
* Add cabbage, simmer another 45 minutes.
Tastes even better the next day.
