Ingredients
- To make brownies:
- 6 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 4 teaspoons salt
- 8 cups sugar
- 1 can (8 oz) baking cocoa
- 2 cups vegetable shortening
- 2 1/2 cups brownie mix
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cups chopped nuts (optional)

Preparation
Step 1
1. In a large bowl, combine the fllour, baking powder,
salt, sugar and cocoa.
2. With a pastry blender, cut in shortening until evenly
mixed
3. Store in a large airtight container in cupboard
*Keeps 10-12 weeks
To make brownies
1. In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients.
2. Beat with a spoonuntil smooth
3. Pour into a greased 8-inch square baking pan
4. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes or until tests done
5. Cut into squares while still warm
6. Dust with powdered sugar if desired
