Ingredients

    cups sifted flour

  • 2 1/2

    teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2

    teaspoon salt

  • 2/3

    cup shortening

  • 2 1/4

    cups brown sugar (1 lb. package)

  • 3

    eggs

  • 1

    cup choppped nuts

  • 1

    package of chocolate chips

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Mix & sift flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside. Melt shortening and add brown sugar. Stir until well mixed. Allow to cool slightly. Add eggs one at a time, beating well aftger each addition. Add dry ingredients, then chopped nuts, and chocolate chips. Pour into a greased jelly roll pan (10.5 x 15.5 x 3/4) Bake for 25-30 minutes. When almost cool, cut into 2x2 inch squares.
