Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 whole egg
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup miniature marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar

Preparation

Step 1

In medium-sized bowl, with an electric beater on medium speed, cream butter and granulated sugar. Add 1 whole egg and 2 egg yolks; beat until well mixed. Add flour, baking powder, and salt; mix well. Spread into prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with nuts, marshmallows, and chocolate chips.

In medium-sized bowl, with an electric beater on medium speed, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form, then fold in brown sugar. Spread over top of batter and bake 30 to 35 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool, then cut into bars and serve.
