Ingredients
- 3 1/4 C sifted all-purpose Flour
- 1 Tsp Baking Soda
- 1/3 Tsp Salt
- 1/2 C (1 stick) Butter, softened
- 1 C Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1 1/2 Tsp Vanilla or 1 Tsp Nutmeg
- 1/3 C thick Sour Cream

Step 1
Sift together flour, baking soda and salt.
Combine in a large bowl of an electric mixture the butter, sugar, egg and vanilla (or nutmeg). Beat on #7 speed (medium-high) for 2 minutes. Stop mixer.
Add sour cream and then the flour mixture gradually while beating on #3 (medium-low) speed for about 2 minutes. Scrap bowl as necessary.
Heat oven to 400o. Roll out dough on lightly floured board to 1/4" thickness. Sprinkle with sugar; roll in lightly, cut with floured cookie cutter, place on greased cookie sheets. Bake about 12 minutes, until golden brown, cool on wire racks.
Makes about 2 1/2 dozen.
