- 1 c. butter
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 4 eggs
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 3 c. flour
- 1 c. milk
- finely grated zest of 2 lemons
- 1/3 c. lemon juice
- 3/4 c. sugar

Step 1
Heat oven to 350. Lightly grease a 10" tube pan or a 9" to 10" bundt style pan.
Beat together the butter, sugar and salt first till combined, then till fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time beating well after each addition.
Add the baking powder, then add the flour alternately with the milk, starting and ending with the flour. Mix until smooth. Stir in the grated lemon zest.
Spoon the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
Bake for 55-60 min or until a cake tester inserted into the center comes out clean.
While the cake is baking make the glaze, stirring the lemon juice and sugar; set aside.
Remove cake from oven, set on wire rack. After 5 min run a knife around the edge of the pan to loosen, turn the cake out onto rack. Place another rack on top to flip the cake over so it's right side up.
Poke the hot cake all over with a cake tester or toothpick.
Stir the glaze to combine, immediately brush in on the hot cake. Let it sink in, then brush more glaze, continuing until all the glaze is used up.
Allow cake to cool before slicing.
