Ingredients

  • Caramel Sauce:
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 6 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water

Preparation

Step 1

*Preheat oven to 325 degrees
*Combine cream cheese, evaporated milk and
condensed milk in a blender
*Transfer to a large bowl and combine with eggs, sugar,
vanilla and cloves; set aside
*In a deep, haevy cast-iron pan, melt sugar over
medium heat. Allow molten sugar to bubble and
darken slightly. Slowly stir in water.
*Cook another minute and turn off heat
*Rotate pan to coat sides and bottom evenly with the
molten sugar
*Pour egg mixture into pan
*Place pan inside a large baking dish.
*Fill baking dish with hot water (the flan cooks in the
pan, surrounded by water)
*Cook 45-60 minutes, until fork test comes out clean
*Cover and cool 3 hours or more
*To serve, invert pan onto a plate
*Cut into thin slices and spoon a little sauce on top
