Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. slat
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 2 cups firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

1. preheat over to 350 degrees. Line 9 x 13 inch baking pan with heavy-duty aluminum foil, making sure foil is extended over sides. Line inside with quick release foil.

2. Combine the flour, bking powder, and salt in small bowl.

3. Melt the butter in a medim sauepn over low heat. Removefrom heat and stir in the brown sugar until it is dissolved. Transfer buter mixture to large bowl and stir in eggs and vanilla. Stir in the flour mixture until just incorporated. Stir in walnut if desired.

4. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake 25 - 30 minutes till just set in the center. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. (can be frozen at this point up to 2 weeks.)

Keep in airtight container at room temperature for 3 to 4 days.

May stir in 2 cups of chocolate chips and 3/4 cup unsweetened coconut, reducing nuts to 3/4 cups.
