Ingredients

  • Cake:
  • 2 C flour
  • 2 C sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 C shortening
  • 1/4 C Hershey cocoa
  • 1 C water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 1/2 C sour milk
  • Frosting:
  • 1 stick butter
  • 5 TBLS milk
  • 1 tsp cocoa
  • 1/4 C cocoa
  • 1/2 C peanut butter
  • powdered sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Cake: Mix together flour and sugar.

Bring to boil in sauce pan: butter, shortening, cocoa, and water.

When boiling, pour over dry mixture. Beat well and add eggs, vanilla, soda and sour milk, mixing well.

Pour into jelly roll pan (400º for 20 min.) or 9x13 pan (375º for 30 min)

Frosting:

Bring to boil: butter, milk vanilla and cocoa.
Remove from heat and add peanut butter.
Add enough powdered sugar until spreading consistency.
