Preparation
Step 1
Add:
3 TBS. of sugar
3 TBS. butter flavored Crisco
1 TBS. Salt
Put the above ingredients in very large mixing bowl.
Then Add:
3 Pints of water. Make the 1st pint very hot (105 degrees) to melt Crisco and ingredients to a liquid. Add 2 more pints to bring the liquid to Luke warm.
Then Add:
3 packets of yeast to mixture. Stir around a bit.
Then Add:
5 Cups of flour mix by hand until it is almost like pancake batter.
LET BATTER RISE FOR 1/2 HOUR OR SO.
Then Add:
1 cup of sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup of butter flavored Crisco (about 8 TBS.)
Add flour little by little and mix with large spoon first, then kneed with your hands until the dough does not stick to your fingers anymore. Use as much flour as needed.
THEN LET DOUGH RISE UNTIL DOUBLED. ABOUT AN HOUR OR SO.
Time now to mix the gooey topping!
Add:
2 LBS of light brown sugar
1/2 LB of soft butter
Put in large mixing bowl and mix with mixer until mixed. Then add, 1-1/4 cups of cold water and mix on medium until you have a creamy mixture.
Then:
Divide mixture evenly into 5 pans 9x11. Then, sprinkle your nuts or raisins on the bottom of each pan. Then let sit while you do the next step.
Then:
Divide the dough into 5 equal balls or parts.
Roll out with a rolling pin to a little less than 1/2inch 16" long x 10" wide.
Then spread butter. Coat entire surface. Sprinkle light brown sugar, cinnamon and then roll tightly into log and cut into 15 sections or pieces.
Place into the pans 3 wide 5 down leave room for expansion.
THEN LET THE BUNS RISE UNTIL DOUBLED OR UNTIL THEY HAVE REACHED THE TOP OF THE PAN. THIS WILL TAKE 1-2 HOURS.
After raising is completed, place buns in preheated overn 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until medium brown. DON'T OVER BAKE the topping will get candied and not be gooey!
