  • 2 C.navybeans
  • 1/2 lb. bacon
  • 1 onion finely diced
  • 3 Tbs. molasses
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 C. ketchup
  • 1 Tbs. Worcesteshire
  • 1/4 C. brown sugar



Step 1

Soak beans overnight in cold water. Simmer beans in same water until tender, about 1-2 hours. Drain and reserve liquid. Preheat oven to 325. Arrange benas in a 2qt. bean pot or casserole dish by placing a portion of the beans in bottom of pan and then layering with onion and bacon. In saucepan, combine molasses, salt, pepper, ketchup, dry mustard, Worcestshire and brown sugar. Bring micture to a boil and pour over beans. Pour in just enough og the reseved water to cover the beans. COver dish with foil and bake for 3-4 hours in preheated oven. remove foil halfway through cooking. and add more liuquid if necessary to prevent beans form drying out.
