Ingredients
- 1 1/2 C Sugar
- 1/2 C Shortening
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp cocoa
- 2 oz red food coloring
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 C buttermilk
- 2 1/2 C flour
- 1 1/2 tsp vinegar
- 1 tsp soda

Preparation
Step 1
Cream sugar, shortening and eggs. Make paste of cocoa and food coloring and add to creamed mixture.
Mix salt, vanilla & buttermilk and add alternately with flour to creamed mixture. Mix soda and vinegar and fold into creamed mixture. DO NOT BEAT
Bake at 350 for 30 min. in 13x9 pan
