Ingredients
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Step 1
Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Sift in the flour and stir just until the dough holds together.
Place the dough on a lightly floured board and knead until smooth. Roll out into an 8" circle and place on a greased baking sheet. Pinch all around the edge, prick with a fork and mark into wedges. Sprinkle with additional sugar.
Bake in a preheated 325 degree oven until pale golden, about 30 to 40 minutes. Leave on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer carefully to a rack to cool completely.
