Ingredients
- 3 cups uncooked rice
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cups cooked ham, chopped
- 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
- 1 cup frozen green peas
- 3 cups water
- 1/4 tablespoon each minced garlic, cayenne pepper, thyme

Preparation
Step 1
1. brown rice in oil until golden brown; add 2 tablespoons of water and onion; cook until onion is transparent. Combine with remaining ingredients in a large, heavy pot. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes or until rice in tender and liquid is gone.
